禅宗の基本的な修行法である「坐禅」。
坐禅は、インドから中国に禅を伝えた達磨禅師以来、禅宗が大切にしてきた仏道修行です。
言葉を発せずに姿勢を整え、息を整えることで、心も整う時間を過ごします。
その考え方、作法を学び、実際に坐っていただきます。

Zazen is a Buddhist practice that has been cherished by the Zen sect since Zen master Daruma introduced it from India to China.
By adjusting your posture and breathing without uttering a word, you spend time to adjust your mind as well.
Participants will learn the concept, manners, and techniques of zazen, and sit in zazen-do(meditation room).

鈴木大拙は、日本の文化として禅や武士道の精神について著作を残しました。
その中で、刀は人を殺める道具でありながら、正しく道を歩むことで人を生かすものだと紹介されています。
居合道のプログラムでは、達人が日本刀の作りや扱い方を教え、刀を手にした所作を体験していただきます。
※稽古着に着替えていただきます。

D.T. Suzuki wrote about the spirit of Zen and Bushido as Japanese culture.
In his writings, he introduced the sword as a tool to kill people, but also to keep people alive by following the path correctly.
In the IAIDO program, a master will teach you the structure and handling of the Japanese sword, and you will experience fundamental movements while holding the sword.
*You will be asked to change into your training clothes.

仏教の真髄ともいえる大切な教え、般若心経を簗田寺僧侶の指導の下、書き写していただきます。心に乱れがあると文字にも表れるので、自分の心の状態に気づけます。

Under the guidance of Ryoudenji Zen monk, you will transcribe the Heart Sutra, an important and quintessential teaching of Buddhism. If your mind is disturbed, it will show in your writing, You will become aware of your own state of mind.

お香は、仏教伝来とともに日本に伝えられたと言われています。
簗田寺の豊かな自然の中で育った山野草を使って、自分だけのオリジナルのお香を作っていただきます。

Incense is said to have been introduced to Japan with the arrival of Buddhism.
You will make your own original incense using wild plants grown in the rich nature of Ryoudenji Temple.

茶道は、禅宗の僧侶が、仏への献茶の所作を発展させ、悟りの境地に至るための一手段として完成させたもの。お茶を通して自分自身を見つめる静かな時間を過ごしていただきます。

The tea ceremony was perfected by Zen monks as a means of attaining enlightenment by developing the ritual of offering tea to the Buddha. We invite you to spend a quiet time to reflect on yourself through tea.

お寺での掃除や片付け、庭の草取りなどをしていただきます。
生活する場を掃除することは自分の身体とこころを整えることに繋がります。

You will be cleaning and tidying up at the temple and weeding the garden.
Cleaning up the place where you live will help you to prepare your body and mind.

坐禅、作務など禅的な時間の流れの中で裏⼭で薪を拾い、焚き⽕を熾し、⽕を囲み、⾃分⾃⾝と、仲間と、⾃然と対話する1泊2日のプログラムを体験していただきます。

You will experience a two-day and one-night program in which you will pick up firewood in the backwoods, make a fire, gather around the fire, and talk with yourself, your friends, and nature in a Zen-like flow of time such as zazen and samu.
